Tessellation

 For math we had to make a Tessellation and I choose to use the shapes: dodecahedron, square and some triangles.

Fires

FIRES

In a fire all you need to focus on, is getting yourself out safely and quickly.

This is a picture of a fire triangle. A fire triangle is the main sources of a fire.

Eg. If I put a fire blanket on a fire that would cut out the oxygen and so the fire would die.

If you can, when you get out of the house or building that you are in, close the door so the oxygen can't get in and hopefully won't make the fire bigger, also if you have enough time then you can shut all the windows.

A wood house will burn faster than a brick house because wood is more flammable than brick. Wood is the fuel of the fire.

How a fire extinguisher works: the fire extinguisher puts a blanket of foam or powder on the fire so that it cuts out the oxygen. Another way a fire extinguisher works is when it has water in it. The water will cut out the heat and so the fire will die.

Here is something you need to know: NEVER put water on an electrical fire, you will electrocute yourself.

Do you know what a fire door is? Well a fire door is a door that when you close, it will trap the fire in the room, and it won't burn down (for a while at least) so you can get out safer.

If you are trying to get out when your door is closed, and the door nob is hot... DON'T open the door, there will be a fire on the other side. Try climbing out your window.

Another thing to remember is if there is a lot of smoke, crawl under the smoke. DON'T stand up in the smoke, the smoke will get to your lungs and you can collapse and possibly die.

Be careful on hot days (and non hot days) with cigarettes', matches, flames and other hot things.
