Micro:Bit controllers...

Elizabeth has been teaching us about micro:bits. A micro:bit is a little pocket sized computer. They communicate through a computer. To move information from the computer to the micro:bit you have to download and drag. That was the hardest part. I learnt lots of things like how to make a flashing heart on the computer and transporting it to the micro:bit. Some other things that we made were a smiley face, sad face, shapes and we even managed to make our name! We could do all this because the micro:bit has 25 small LED lights on the top of the micro:bit. Micro:bits are fun to play with and there are many things that you can do. You could spend hours with it and would still have more things that you can do!

Christmas In China

Christmas Traditions in China. The small number of Christians in China call Christmas Sheng Dan Jieh, which means Holy Birth Festival. They decorate their homes with evergreens, posters, and bright coloured paper chains. Not many people sing carols on the streets, though it's popular in Christian's houses, where the karaoke machine is, the karaoke machine is very popular in China. Gifts are not given much in China apart from in the expats. Many Christmas foods are difficult to find in China: Brussels sprouts, Christmas puddings, even turkeys. But internet shopping can be a way to get Christmas food home quicker. Santa's in China are the same as the ones in NZ but they have a one piece red suit with no white. They have the same hat but the boots are red as well.

They seem to have a liking for red!
